But without faith it is impossible to please God, for he that comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of them that seek Him. Hebrews 11:6
The Scriptures are very clear on the subject of pleasing God. Our faith in Him pleases Him. If we do not have faith in Him then it is safe to say that He is not pleased with us. Let’s look at this verse a little closer:
It says, that without faith it is impossible to please God. That means it is not possible to please God with anything else other than faith in Him. Can love please Him? The truth is that you cannot love someone you’ve never seen unless you have faith that He exists. So, our relationship with God begins with faith.
Faith pleases God:
Romans 14:23 says “… for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.”
Here are a few Scriptures that clarifies the question: Can anyone just ask God for whatever they want and they will get it? The answer to the question is anyone can ask God for whatever they want if they do as the Scripture says:
Whatever you do, do all to the glory of God – 1 Co 10:31. Does your lifestyle glorify God?
Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by Him – Col 3:17. What is your language like? Is God pleased with the way you express yourself in words? When no one is looking, do you do what you do in the name of Jesus?
Whatever you do, do it heartily, as unto the Lord, and not unto men – Col 3:23. When you are at work, do you work to please men or to please God.
What do you do as a regular routine? Do you do these things in the name of the Lord, and give thanks to God as you do them?
You may be able to answer the question yourself. If you cannot live by faith in God, then you are living in sin, because whatever is not of faith is sin. God loves everyone, no doubt. The problem is that everyone doesn’t love God.
Be a person who loves God so much that you will do and say only what pleases Him.
